I want you to let your defenses down. I want you to know that you shouldn’t give up the fight for love.
I know how you feel. I know about the many nights where you just cried yourself to sleep. I know about the many failed attempts of love that have left you dejected and feeling worthless. I know the many frustrations and disappointments that you have had to bear with lately. You put so much hope and belief into your relationships and it makes you devastated whenever you find out that things just can’t work out the way that you want them to. You aren’t looking to play games anymore. You don’t want to have to put yourself out there if it only means that you’re going to end up getting heartbroken anyway. You’re exhausted and you don’t think you have much energy left to pursue the love that you think you’re deserving of. You’re scared that maybe the right love for you doesn’t exist after all and that eventually you’re going to have to settle. The voices of insecurity are continuing to get louder and louder inside of you. And slowly, you’re starting to believe that perhaps, you’re not worthy of a great love after all. And so you slowly try to exclude yourself from the narrative that you were writing for yourself. You put up your walls of defenses because you don’t want to have to bear with another case of disappointment.
But I want you to just stick with things. I want you to let your defenses down. I want you to know that you shouldn’t give up the fight for love. I want you to know that it’s still okay to allow yourself to trust people even it if it means that you have to risk your own emotional well-being. Because love should always be worth the risk.
You have to remember that not everyone you’re going to meet down the line will mistreat you the way that everyone in your past has mistreated you. You just have to remember that all it takes is one special person to turn your life around – and you will end up forgetting about all the bad times you have ever had because of this person. Yes, of course. You have to stay guarded to some degree. You have to protect yourself. You have to have your own back. But that doesn’t mean that you should be pushing everyone away from you. If you keep pushing people away, then you risk driving away the one person who can make your heart pure and happy again. You also have to allow yourself to take a risk every now and then. It’s okay to take a chance on people. Because if we lose our faith in people; if we lose our faith in love, then is this still really a life that’s worth living?
Try to picture in your mind a person who is in the same position as you. This is someone who has been disappointed and heartbroken so many times that they’re starting to lose hope. They wonder and daydream about the day where they finally meet the one person who can make their heart whole again. This person is waiting for someone like you. And if you give up now, then you are depriving this person of the chance to meet you; to gain the love that you so desperately want to give and receive in return.
The time will come when the universe will finally decide that the time is ripe for you to actually gain the love that you’ve always wanted for yourself. The universe will look at you, pluck you out of your sadness, and bring you face to face with the one person you were destined to be with all along. And in that moment, you will finally understand what it means to achieve eternal bliss in love.
You are going to find pure elation and as you look back at your past, you will finally come to discover that everything happens for a reason after all. You will grow to understand that all of the heartaches and disappointments of the past have led you to where you are now and you wouldn’t have it any other way. You are going to look back and you won’t even remember how bad you used to feel. You will just feel thankful for where you are at the moment and you will be grateful at the fact that you didn’t give up on finding love.
So keep that faith in love. Don’t lose it. Don’t give it up. Continue to fight for it. And if you get a little broken along the way, that’s fine. Just keep in mind that these temporary heartaches and struggles are only but minor details in the bigger picture. Your whole story has yet to be told. And it’s up to you to just keep on going. And you won’t feel so alone anymore after everything is said and done. Because you will have finally met the one person who won’t make you feel alone in a world that’s filled with people.
